As you all have been aware we have been experiencing technical issues with our IP Redirect and our support team has identified the cause of the issue.
We’re proud of what we’ve achieved with the Free IP redirect up until now. It’s been used by hundreds of store owners across the globe, and it has been one of our greatest creations a Blackbelt Commerce.
Our plugin was developed using the free IP lookup service provider IPStack online API checker. This is one of the leading IP to Geolocation APIs and global IP database services worldwide that offered “free” & “unlimited” API checks.
IPStack recently changed their pricing. The “free” and “unlimited” checks are no longer available for traffic greater than 10K lookups. They have been broken down into different pricing brackets. They are blocking our server because of the large quantity of IP lookup requests. However, our team has identified a new service that provides the same information. You just need to update a line of code in your theme files.
We are providing details instructions on how to update the current server with a new source.

We are recommending an option that you can implement NOW to fix the issue:
To accomplish this, you are going to login to the store to update the theme liquid file with a new URL for a new IP server, which will provide the GEO location API
1- GO TO YOUR STORE’S THEME and SELECT EDIT CODE
2 – FIND YOUR ASSETS FOLDER
- Open the Assets folder
- Find the ‘redirect.js.liquid’
Open the redirect.js.liquid by clicking on it:
Go TO LINE 23 or 24 and find the following entry:
self.domain = “https://server.shortcodesforshopify.com/json/?callback=?”;
3 – Please replace the current URL server name with the following new URL-Please copy the entire string as you see it below
self.domain = “https://reallyfreegeoip.org/json/?callback=?”;
4. PLEASE SAVE THE UPDATED URL
